HERO IMPULSE

Hero moto corp, launches itss first motorcycle under its new brand identity Impulse 150cc motorcycle in India. Hero Impulse is powered by a 150cc engine that generate.one thing that the Indian biking segment had been missing was the fact that motorcycle manufacturers were not very interested in offering bikes that could be good both on and off the roads.Hero Impulse_0.jpg
The Hero Impulse is expected to come as a breath of fresh air in the motorcycle segment, which is increasingly seeing domination of either commuter bikes or sportsbikes. With wheels of 19” at front and 17” at the rear and a huge ground clearance of 245mm, the Impulse has an impressive stance. However, the bike has not been made very tall, therefore, it will be ridden well by most people.

The bike has been given a 149.2cc motor, which is a common feature these days on a lot of motorcycles. However, the engine of the Hero Impulse generates maximum power of 13.02BHp @ 7500rpm whereas peak torque achieved is 1.36kgm at 5000rpm. Peak torque achieved at mid-level revs means the bike could be one fun ride. Indeed, riding the Hero Impulse is a lot of fun. The front 19” wheel gives the bike a great deal of stability whereas being light in weight at a kerb weight of 134kg along with its slim profile helps in the control aspect greatly. The cradle frame of the Hero Impulse has been given telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock, which is gas-charged, at the rear.

The dashboard is located with simple-looking meters, both analog tachometer displays as well as digital speedometer. The only thing that is different is that the dashboard now displays time.

The bike has been provided with 240mm front disc brakes and 110mm rear drum brakes. This is at par with most bikes in its segment though there is a bit of sponginess in the front brakes. However, this fact can be justified as it is a known fact that all off-road bikes are provided with brakes that are slightly dull so that wipeouts can be prevented on sharp braking.

It certainly looks like a bike that has most things going for it to make it a worthy investment. It looks like the Hero Impulse is in for a long reign on Indian roads.
